How To Find Your Postcode In Nigeria
Are you looking for how to find your postcode in Nigeria? Then this article is for you.
In the not too distant past, I was in your shoes but not anymore. Read
carefully and follow the steps outlined here.
To get your postcode, get yourself an
internet connected device then do the following:
·
Go to this webpage: www.nigeriapostcodes.com/views
on getting there you will have two options facing you, Urban Post Code search and
Rural Post code search. The former is for searching areas in cities and
townships while the latter is for searching communities and villages.
·
For the urban post code search,
click on the tab for it and then click on the drop down menu from here you can select
the state the area is located. From the next menu select the town. Under the
town you will have to select the area and finally from the area, you can then
select the street name. After selecting the street name, you will then wait for
2-3 seconds to get your postcode. It’s that simple!
·
For the rural post code search,
you will have to click on the tab designated for it. Then follow the same
process as outlined above only that the tabs to click will be State, Local
Government Area , Districts and Communities/villages in that order.
You can also use this web page for your
search: http://www.nipost.gov.ng/PostCode.aspx,
here you just need to click on the state and then your local government to
generate the postcodes. With the above
links you should be able to get a postcode for any area in Nigeria. If after
going through the two links and you can’t find the postcode for your area, then
your area may be in Benin republic! (Kidding)
Note that the postcode comes in six digits.
The benefits of knowing your postcode are very numerous. Other than the
educational benefit, knowing your postcode will help you to complete forms
online where it is usually requested. Before, I used to type in 234 as the postcode
of my area in forms. Some sites accepted it while countless sites turned my
application down for putting in wrong codes.
I never understood why they rejected my application until I got to learn
that what I have always used as postcode was wrong. Most persons out there
still make this mistake.
Now you have learnt how to find your Postcode in Nigeria, you can teach your friends or
forward the link to this article to them!
